Lake House Chairman Bandula Padmakumara has ordered Dinamina Editor Mahinda Abeysundera to remove the newspaper’s New Editor Chandrani Marasinghe with immediate effect and to get Hemantha Dep, who is an office assistant at Lake House, to replace her.

The Lake House Chairman has informed the Dinamina Editor that he had received several calls from Minister Basil Rajapaksa to appoint Hemantha, who is one of Basil’s supporters, as the Dinamina News Editor.

Chandrani and Hemantha worked hard for the government’s victory during the last Presidential and general elections. Hemantha also played a key role in attacking union leaders at Lake House during several union unrests in the recent past.
